I overdid it yesterday. I felt sick today. I had body ache and fatigue. And I was sneezing and I had a runny nose. And my muscles are tight and sore. I slept most of the day.
I needed to get outside though. I took a book with me and walked around town at night. I started on Moon Muang (one of the main streets). I saw two men walking a baby elephant like it was their pet dog. I scrambled for my camera and dropped my book. The elephant leaned over to scoop up my book. I took a photo. The men pulled the elephant back and walked away with it.
I kept walking. I walked passed several bars. The young waitresses of each bar sat out front and wooed men inside. They tried all sorts of tactics on me. Some would say hello. Others would grab my arm. One blocked my path and started dancing. I always smiled and said “no thank you,” sometimes using my arm to brush them aside.
It wasn’t like these bars were going off. These women were out front for a reason. And I was sick. Alcohol was the last thing I needed. Nevertheless, it was fun to have the attention. I don’t get that back in the States. Most venues there want only pretty girls and men with lots of money to blow.

So an elephant stole your book?
@Chad–Haha. No. The men were able to pull it away before it got my book! It must be an intellectual elephant.
